Default THEY THINK ITS ALL OVER, IT IS NOW

Finished the car at about 3pm today & went out for a bit of mapping , on 600+ bhp the performance was incredible & on a different planet to my old conversion, so Mark decided to give the Nitrous a blast, started at a 130bhp shot, but with bottle pressure over 900psi it would have been a lot more than that so was running over a genuine 750bhp, acceleration was so brutal at this level that it took me completely by surprise, the Torque would be around 650ft/lb so that’s why.

Mark then wanted to see what happened in 2nd , well now we know.
These are the up-rated Zoo shafts , but they simply twisted in half.
Mark had been testing Leons 900+ Supra in the morning ,I will let Mark compare the two cars.
Had offers from Zoo & Martin to supply new shafts, but a total re-think is required because i was using my road tyres not Street Drag radials & no launches were tried. Have already contacted a Drag racing company , who have suggested the material new shafts should be made of, so will be looking into this.
Saw the potential of a 750brake Cossie today & even Zoo's uprated shafts aint even close to coping. Will be there on Sunday cheering the Cossie boys on ,with a great big grin. Watch this space in the next few weeks, thats all i will say.
rOD
PS . Sunny may post other picts as my virus scanner has taken a dislike to Marks pictures & keeps sending them back.

hi mate,

sorry to here this,

i still remember kevs escort from last year twisting his first go!

from whot i remember turbo systems said at the time the original shafts would be fine,

kev now has uprated ones which work for him,

if you had the drag redials on you would have had even more strain on it,

so as you say, rethink needed,

it might be worth asking the guy in norway? with the big power saph which ones he uses,

Sellholm tuning in Sweden makes axles for dragcars. An M3 in Sweden wich run in the mid 9's use these axles and the car has about 750 bhp. The axles i s rated for times down to 7,5 sec quartermiles.

http://www.sellholm.com/main.html

How does the engine cope with that kind of power?

Yes a good day and a bad one, I had been out mapping a 900+hp Supra in the morning so I was expecting the Cossie to feel fast but not that fast, How wrong was I in the lower gears it felt as fast as the Supra but we never got to try it at high speed to compare, But I have been in some of the most powerfull Cossies in the country but nothing compares to this one,
We will be looking at the prop aswell as driveshafts to be safe, So within the next month or so will be at Brunters with PF for perfomance figs.

HOLY DOG SHIT!!!! That certainly takes some torque to do that!!! Very impressive but very sad at the same time as I was REALLY looking forward to see it go at TOTB.

Can't wait to see it in PF with the figures, I'll buy that mag & I aint even got a Ford anymore!!!

well as i said before rod,

why reinvent the wheel, if sold shafts work for group a

i would have thought that was the first thing to try,

the 600 bhp thunder saloons with there 12" wide slicks could not brake them raceing,

Not really
Modified Bell mousing & a few small mods. Special clutch required & custom prop. Sits 30mm further forward than T5, so interior trim moved to suit, looks standard. A nice solution to the Cossie gearbox prob.
