basically go in there and have your story sorted ie you know you were in the wrong and WILL take the punishment BUT explain that you ARE as you say on the straight and narrow you never know it may just go your way with a larger fine/points etc! I didn't think 6 points was a straight automatic retake but over 6 WAS!

ALL the above is based that THERE wasn't an accident!

What you do for a living?

You were driving without a license for 8 years?!

Just tell the truth, say that you've realised your mistake, even if it took you a while.. and hope they are leniant... nothing else you can do really.

Its unlikely you will be forced into retaking a test when you've only just passed one!!

Don't know what else it will be though.

you deserve it for driving without a licence![/quote]

you'll be surprised HOW many people drive around without one!

and then there's the people with a licence but drive without insurance due to the fact the fine IS less than what they would have paid for the year so take a gamble they wont get caught!

Then there is the people who have a license but shouldn't because they are total incompetents who should be allowed within 50yards of a vehicle

No, but it does mean your insurance is void!!! He could have killed someone!!

indy - purely out of interest - what were you doing to get pulled and given a producer in order for them to discover you have no license?

Neil.

No it means he's irresponsible and shouldn't be allowed near a car, by your logic a 12 year old holding a gun isn't dangerous because he hasn't shot anyone yet

youl will get 6 points for no insurance for deffinate, then they will revoke your licence and youll have to resit your test again for getting 6 points or over in the first 2 yrs of driving

thats without the driving with no licence charge

so id say goodbye to the licence, and get on the phone to book your retest

Was reading the local court appearence things in my local paper earlier.

Average for 1 offence (licence, insurance or MOT etc) was 3 points plus Ł120 fine.

Average for 2 offences (licence or insurance, insurance or MOT etc) was 6 points and Ł350 fine

Average for 3 offences was a Skoda for a month

no license equals no insurance. You are very lucky you didnt hit someones car or worse still a child. But saying that a lot of us have made mistakes (i know i have) but learning by them is the key. Hope they show you leniency for your efforts and also hope you have learnt your lesson...... good luck

I'm sure i read somewhere that even if someone didn't have a licence but paid the insurance then the insurance has to cover you for third party claims anyway?

Not saying you deserve a break as people like you do increase my insurance premiums when it does go tits up

If anything you have told the insurance company differs to whats actually correct then they have the right to void your insurance. Which is why if you have a modified car and don't tell your insurance company you run the risk of finding yourself owing alot of money to alot of people if you're involved in an accident and the insurance vehicle assesor finds something you havent declared etc and decides you weren't covered. Believe me insurance companys will look for ANYTHING to get out of paying out for you.

Why on earth you paid for insurance when it was void baffles me...?
What did they say when they asked how long you've held a license, 8 years?!

glad to see sometimes the system gets it right. I can't see how anyone could be so selfish as to drive without a license/insurance....endangering the lives of other people.

neighbour across the road for me stole a bus years ago , obviously he was caught. he had a slight mental condition and was given a fine and a 5 year ban.
Last year he got caught driving with no liscence while still on a ban. He paid for insurance , but obvioulsy it was null and void.
He was told that due to his mental state and the fact his wife had given birth , he was told he would be spared a jail term , but was fined and banned for a further 7 years.

It isn't the lack of license or insurance that endangers lives!
I can assure I have seen a great many people on the roads who are a significant risk to others yet they have a license

I think you need to invest in some steel undies for the prison time you will hopefully be facing and get used to being called susan and being told " Squeal like a pig for me boy!"
