Default It's arrived at last..!!! My new Lorry.. :D

YIPPEEEEE...

My very own truck... No more sharing... I can 'Chrisie' it to death...

I know she's a bit plain at the mo, but give me time.. I'll bling it up..

Paul, jumping for joy, for me.. As you can see, compared to the white truck on the right, she doesn't really fit her parking space...

The view you get when you open the door.. !!! The floor...

ERF's aren't the most 'Gadget' filled trucks... But i've got a passenger side leccy window..

Best of all.. It's got a BED...

It's got a 4 over 4 range changer box, so you use the first 4 gears as normal, then flick a switch on the stick, and put it back into first.. which is now 5th.. etc, upto 8.. plus a crawler and TWO reverses...

AM I CHUFFED.....

I've got my first job this morning at 7am, but I'm soo excited I can't sleep...

Luv
Chrisie...

I believe they paid about 10K for it.. On a T plate but with low miles.. Just had brand new curtains fitted this afternoon too...

Now i've gotta get the mp3 player, LCD telly, and microwave fitted... Not forgetting 5 or 6 roof lights, a red rope light with 2 blue leds (or "Ragtop" in blue LED's) amd numurous amber running lights thrown at it...

I have always behaved myself with the car, and had 'street sleepers', but NOW... !!!!

BLING ME UP BABY...

Something to do with stopping at security boxes/gate houses etc...to save you from having to lean over to work the window manually on the other side of the cab....the vast majority of trucks have a passenger side electric window as standard unless it's a well specced up truck....

Saw a fit female truck driver on Thursday afternoon on Leicester Forest East services filling up with fuel...

Well my first day out in her went summut like this....

Load up at Shepshed..

Loaded up with about 8 tonnes of paper..

Time for a break... Jump in the back for a quick lie down on the bed..

If you close the curtains, it feels like a tiny caravan..

At the drop.. off loading..

Back at the yard.. Time for some 'David Bailey' shots...

GGRRrrrrr Big truck...

Spent a couple of hours this evening cleaning the cab out properly.. Mat's and carpets out, pan and brush, duster... I NEVER thought trucking would domesticate me..

Scania's will pass anything but a workshop from my experience though...

I like the way the interior lamps wear the paint off the roof inside and then short to earth!

We maintain a few and they are always in for repairs. These are a few years old now though so the newer ones might be better.

I know she's basic... or 'utilitarian' as I like to call it... but i've heard that if you treat them well, they'll last forever..

The 7.5 tonners are far better specced, with leccy everything, cruise, trip computers, etc... BUT.... This one has got 9 forward gears and 2 reverses, so i'm as happy as a proverbial pig... AND it's just mine...
That's not to say I wouldn't jump at the chance of a topliner or FH (scania or volvo).. They are

My only complaints are the ashtray is in a useless position, and I want to move the hazard's switch to t'other side of dash, but other than that... I'M HOME.... I've found my true vacation...
