i did 1800 to 2ltr in mine
and you will need

1800 head and block
and the 1800 ECU (unless you got a re mappable ECU)

the oil pump and water pump and everything else are the same mate .

yeah but i think i would need a full loom as well because the 1600 ecu has a different amount of pins so the ecus aer not interchangable for the 1600/18-20 litre
unless anyone else knows more

My mate has a 1600 MK6 escort,
he is now running a 2ltr in it with 1600 managment, so yea it will work
with the 1600 ECU. (he also has unichip though)

NO mate, The 2ltr ECU has a different amount of pins,
BUT you can use the 1800 ECU which is a bit closer..
and what im using (till the new ECU goes in)

no mate
you simply treat the 2ltr block and head as if it were a direct replacement
for the one you are taking out.
use All your original engine mounts, pumps belts, loom, manifolds.
the lot.

You Also must use your Escort Oil pick-up pipe and sump,
as the mondeo enignes have the exhaust cut out on the other side.

IF you are going to run your 1600 ECU then you might have to use the 1600
injectors too, as there has been cases of them not working properly with the
1800/2ltr injectors.

If you can though, use the 2ltr Fuel rail, the injectors are the same as 1800
ones, but the regulator is differnt.

sorry forgot to mention the important bit..lol
if you are using the 2ltr not 1800,
then you will need to get it set up proper.
different managment

yes mate,
I mentioned the Sump up there /\ lol
use the Escort Sump and Oil pickup pipe.

Air con just means that there is another few bits to transfer over to the new
unit.

to look at, you cannot tell the difference between 1600-1800 and 2ltr
zetec engines,, (well only by the numer on the front of them)
Everything is exactly the same mate

hey there I have a mondeo and i did a conversion to 2.0, using 1.6 ecu injectors inlet and exhaust manifolds, i've noticed huge power difference but not as it should be, it did 0-100 kmph in about 9.5 secs on 17" wheels, but i was looking for more, so i put on the 2.0 intake manifold, TB, Exhaust manifold and injectors but still on 1.6 ECU, it pulled like shit, it lost all the power with huge black exhaust coming out (unburnt fuel so its running lean) so i put back the 1.6 fuel rail, my mondeo has an EEC-V ECU pats disabled 1.6 silvertop, so I need to put in an EEC-IV 60 pin loom, will do that tomorrow but i we dont have the 2.0 non pats ecus here in egypt so i decided to use a 1.8 ECU till i order a 2.0 ecu from e-bay, I know that the 1.8 and 2.0 injectors are the same but it was new for me to learn about the different fuel pressure regulator between the 1.8 and 2.0, do I need to get a 1.8 fuel rail and Fuel pressure regulator ??? or is there a way to run 2.0 fuel rail on 1.8 management ??? please i really need to know asap, thnks in advance
