Default whats the deal with protein and carbs and stuff?

as in what is readily available off the shelf that you can eat without having to order some sort of chemical formula than walter white would have trouble concocting?

chicken yes, but what part and how should it be cooked?

eggs yes, but the whites? or the yellow bit only? do i boil the egg? or fry it? or scramble it? or is it just "an egg"?

what about stuff like potatoes and beef and bread etc?

doing loads of looking at a load of fitness sites but it's all very very complicated and i just want to try and eat simple healthy stuff without getting constipated (rice)or getting the trots (chicken)

or should i just go to kfc

cheers

What are you looking to achieve? Bulk up or just good general fitness?

Just to be healthier, getting to that point now where the kids are running about doing "health" and I'm sat there thinking "I'm too old for this"

Plus I drive a bus and spend most of my day sitting down with no moving about so i don't want to get a belly either, 3 or 4 days of cafe breakfast and i can see the change in weight and shape and everything so a bit of gym time and general change of eating habits of what I'm trying to do

Not turning into the next Lou Ferrigno

That said, 10 mins doing the basics has already made a difference after only a month so I'm doing something right

A fry up for breakfast, followed by a Maccies for lunch and a KFC for dinner.

That should keep the doctor away. Perhaps not the undertaker, but possibly the doctor

at 74 kgs and 6 foot tall, i'm not exactly blessed with a pot belly

but yes, after a few days i can see the effects, plus i start to feel like a greasy teenager as my skin gets oily

i've also got a super fast metabolism, literally 6 hours between eating and it coming out the other end (you can tell by the smell in some cases ) but regardless of how much i eat it's really difficult to put weight on, i did some numbers a few years ago and i was packing away between 3500 and 4000 calories a day and the weight didn't go up

i just want a packed lunch to take to work so i can eat twice, healthy, etc

plus eating out a few times a day gets very expensive at Ł5 a pop over the course of a week

Keep it simple mate. If you can catch it or kill it or you can dig it up then eat as much as you want. Just eat good whole clean food from the land and not fucked about with. Eat the whole egg, the fat is VERY good for you. Vary your meats so you don't get sick of it or build up intolerances. Drink plenty of water. Avoid sugar. And that should see 95% of people living healthier. After a few months of that then maybe look at nutrient timing, I prefer protein and fat only for my first two meals then introduce carbs but that's a whole other discussion
