Default Starting a weight loss/fitness/marathon training plan with weekly photo updates!

Today I am starting a documented plan with the goal to loose weight and get ready for a marathon I have entered on the 22nd oct. I hope that by keeping my progress updated and posting a weekly photo may help sper others on!

I have a 12 week plan I will be strictly sticking to in order to prepare me for the run. I will be cutting crap food out and eating right, will post up my diet etc as i get settled into it.

I weighed myself today as a starting point and jeez it's alot more than i thought it was! My current fitness isn't too bad, I fun 5-7 miles a couple times a week already but am clearly carrying excess weight despite my big build!

Plan

Weight

Start 25/07 99.1kg 15st8.5lb
Week One 01/08 97.6kg 15st5.2lb
Week Two 08/08
Week Three 15/08
Week Four 22/08
Week Five 29/08
Week Six 05/09
Week Seven 12/09
Week Eight 19/09
Week Nine 26/09
Week Ten 03/10
Week Eleven 10/10
Week Twelve 17/10

Relaxed

Tensed

End week one....
Relaxed

Tensed

im hoping too yeah, work as a helicopter mechanic and will be doing alot of running and training so can't cut carbs right down. This is an example diet....
Breakfast- porridge made with water, maybe a soft boiled egg
Lunch- Soup with wholegrain pitta bread
Dinner- Brown Pasta with a tin of tuna, boiled egg and tomato sauce.
along with this as much fruit and veg as I like.
weekends are going to be the hardest as I like nothing more than going up sainsburys and getting some snacks and a pizza! im hoping by recording it on here with photos etc will help keep me motivated

Pah, cardio is the work of the devil!

Good luck though mate, seems a decent goal to set yourself, I wish you all the best.

week one out the way, went ok, i did all my runs planned plus did a bit of cross training and usually surfing on my rest days. Diet in the week went well, but i did treat way too much at weekend, Pizza, choc, biscuits etc so i am a bit dissapointed with the results and will try be better this week! Still i'm happy with my running, been doing it all cross country, managed 10 miles yesterday without stopping and averaging 7.3mph. hopefully will do a better update next week! photo and weight have been edited into my original post

Good luck with this mate. I'll monitor the progress.
I run 10k's (42-45mins) 6 days a week (sunday is day off) and have done for a couple of years but don't think I have a marathon in me! I admire people who do!

just a little update, have been keeping up all the running and surfing etc on rest days, but my diet is going to shot, as we have been nearing summer leave the cakes have been flowing and i've been drinking maybe 10 cups tea a day with a sugar or two in each, not ideal! plus this weekend haven't been that strict. I wont be able to weigh myself monday as the gym is closed but will the following monday. this may be a blessing as not sure i've done that well! as of monday I will be keeping to a very very strict diet and no treats!!
