Doing more cardio, but putting on weight :S
I started jogging last week, getting up at 6:30am then start jogging from 7 for 4 miles.
Did this every morning last week (quite pleased with myself, not only for going non-stop but for getting up so early). I'd have a glass of water before setting off (small sips) then have breakfast when I got back.
On Monday I weighed about 15.5st, by Friday (weighed myself at same time of the morning) I'd gained .5st and I can't work out why.
Food intake hasn't changed at all, stomach seems/feels flatter and can see my hips are getting a tad smaller. Have noticed my calves feel bigger when kneeling down.
Surely I couldnt of put .5st of muscle on ?

circumstances like yours normally do suggest muscle growth, but putting on half a stone in anyones book is pretty much not possible (2lb per week lean muscle growth is considered about the best your going to get, and hold onto), but this could be a mixture of several things, your body getting in the routine of morning cardio work and storing food from the previous night for energy, holding water for the same reason, this will sort it self out aftter a while of doing this, imo if your doing early morning cardio, dont eat anything thats too high in carbs or hard to digest after 8pm (based on if you go to bed around 11pm), but have a banana before you go out for a run for your energy source
remember, dont go by the scales, the mirror is the best way to see if your loosing weight

The mirror like me :P it's probably early days, but am pretty sure I'm slimming down.
Annoyingly, I've not made it to the gym for almost 2 weeks ... mainly 'cos I've felt physically tired by the evening, and not really got into the mood of training (I guessed that if I'm not in the mood to traing, I'm not going to perform my best).
I was going to go the gym tonight, but (again) I'm feeling tired. Almost fell asleep at lunch hehe. I sort of treated last week (first week of running/jogging) as a get into the swing of it, and started to set a pace this week (managed 2miles in a tad under 9 mins, thats with varrying up and down hills).
I've managed to do 2 hours of Kickboxing both weeks.
Am I doing the right thing, holding off the gym till I'm properly into the running/jogging routine? I really need to start getting more protein in me too (another reason why not going to the gym isnt too bad, as I dont think I eat enough of the right stuff to make the workout worth the results).
