Break back into it slowly or dive straight in ?

Break back into it slowly or dive straight in ?
Happy New Year to all !
Go back to work today, and the gym (the gym is at work) and it would normally be the cardio day (burn off 1000 calories).
But I'm unsure if to go straight back into the routine hitting the 1000 cal on day 1 ... or do I wait till Wednesday when I do a full body workout (this includes 10-20mins on the cross-trainer) ?

either way its gunna be tough as hell and you'll be battered after
i always find the hardest workout is the one after a break, which is usually motivation enough not to miss any lol
just make sure you don't push to hard or you'll end up with a pull or worse.

Went back for the first time last night, and it wasn't as bad as I thought ... in fact, sometimes I felt I could lift more ... but didn't try as I didn't want to push it.
Think I've pulled, or done something to the left side of my back ... but I'm pretty sure how I did it (not through the gym). Had to carry a table across campus, which was all packed up and I think I was carrying it awquadly (sp) due to the wind

i went back in on wednesday after 1 1/2 weeks off, never do that much weight lifting as i dont want to get bigger, but my stretches and running/bike/cross/row were haaaaaaaaaard this week! it amazin how quickly it takes to lose fitness when it takes so long to get it!
