Electric shock ab thingys

do they actually do anything at all, always been curios...

lukeytheduke 04-07-2006 11:49 AM

they are the nuts mate, get a body teck pro, i had a massive chest and shoulders arms etc but could never get anywhere near a 6 pack, after 2 weeks of it, im starting to see outlines of the 8 pack, much flatter belly

money well spent

timb551 04-07-2006 11:54 AM

where do i find details on those ones, just done a google but couldnt find anything.

Rs1 05-07-2006 06:13 PM

Yes they do work but imo they are best used as an aid to recovery or rehab.
You could put it on your abs and have it on full tilt all day but you will not see any differance in terms of gaining a 6 pack. Only way you'll ever have a clear cut 6 pack is to trim down the fat covering your abs.

bigwelshlad 05-07-2006 06:14 PM

they did work for me when i was a lot smaller and able to use one

my stomach muscles certainly became a lot harder and bigger

doesnt help today tho if you are trying to lose gut size !

Rs1 05-07-2006 06:17 PM

It works as good a crunches really but the same applies with that. You can do a thousand crunches a day but if you have a beer beely you aint gonna see a 6 pack.

bigwelshlad 05-07-2006 06:19 PM

true mate found when one fitted that they only make your beer gut muscles harder and bigger

Stu @ M Developments 06-07-2006 10:07 AM

I find it very hard to believe these things work! :?

AndyBlackFRST 06-07-2006 12:44 PM

Same as Stu on this one.. Never thought they actually did anything

Rs1 06-07-2006 07:12 PM

You'll be surprised lads. It basicly operates the muscle as you would doing manual excercise, infact it can operate the muscle to such a severe degree you may injure. Its definatly not a toy, many physio's use it.

Steve200+ 07-07-2006 01:13 AM

To my understanding, a muscle's driven by electrical impulses, so surely if a current is introduced, it's going to stimulate it, I can definitely understand how it could work. I've been told they work from guys that use them, but only as 'maintenance' rather than development.

So logically, if they *do* work, I'm curious, are there other versions that will act on other areas of the body?

Rs1 07-07-2006 11:38 AM

Steve the one i have can run 4 seperate pads of different sizes(if you wish) which can be placed on any muscle. Intensity and timesacle is adjustable aswell.
I used mine manily around my ankle after an injury, just to stimulate the muscle a bit and get blood flowing to aid in repair. I did however try a few other muscle groups and it worked fine.

tpaul 07-07-2006 11:45 AM

these machines are great , my mate had one before and we tried it on varoius muscle groups. stick it on your mates arms and fore arms, when he looks away turn it to full blast and max pulse.
It will make your mate look like the best dancer in the world lol
Only problem he had me back and on full whack they will make muscles cramp up
Really good laugh though. never used it properly however.
Six pack = diet diet diet
Cheers
Paul
