Emergency Cut.....any tips??
Well due to last minute plans I'm now going to Cyprus in 11 days.
I now need to shed a bit of fat I seemed to have gained due to bulking up over the past couple of months. Dont get me wrong I'm not a fat bastard but I've noticed it slightly around my stomach area so would like to give it my best shot at reducing this before I hit the beach. LOL!
Plan is - cut right down on my carb intake until I go away - no carbs after lunch time and increase protein a little to try and maintain what I've gained in muscle. Oh & NO alcohol either! LOL!
I'm going to aim to do an hours cardio ontop of my regular weights session each day.
Just been this morning & done an hour consisting of.....30mins bike, 10 mins cross trainer, 10 mins rower & 10 mins on the treadmill - according to the machines readout thats approx burnt off around 500 calories in that time.
Any tips or pointers that might help me in this mission impossible please?
Weigh In...using the same scales (at the gym) & fully clothed!
31st May - 79kg @ 1:00pm
01 June - 77kg @ 12:45pm
02 June - 77kg @ 8pm
03 June - 77kg @ 7:30pm
04 June - 77kg @ 9:55pm (I can see a pattern emerging! lol)

Right - been again today - I never classed myself as a sweaty person but.....that might change! LOL!
Hunger pangs are setting in already...EEEEEK!!
Gonna do a daily weigh in aswell - more for myself than anything else to keep a log of whats achieveable!!

Best of luck Lee, cutting is something im useless at even though i fully understand the science behind it, i simply love food too much so i choose to exersize excessively to allow me to eat reasonably well too. That said, Just over 2 years ago i was 18 stone, now im 15.7, so i cant moan too much, but its a slow journey for me.
Please remember to only weigh yourself at the SAME time of day, as your weight varies a lot from morning to night. First thing in morning is reputed to be most accurate, but i must add i would personally only weigh yourself every 3 days max, as daily weigh ins just add unecessary stress if things "appear" to be going the wrong way. A body fat alayzer would probably give you more accurate readings, but the fact is, you will know if the changes are happening as you will, as you well know, just feel damn better about yourself.
Remember, your new routine may well be building new muscles too with your heavy cardio routine as every movement our limbs make, utilise muscle, so weight isnt everything by any means.
Keep us informed, and i hope you succeed.

Todays update......well.....I'll be honest - it was difficult to say the least! 2hrs 40mins in the gym! LOL
Did 10mins on the bike to warmup....then did 5/6 of my usual chest exercises (somehow managing to get up 40kgs up on my own on the dumbell flat bench press & knock 5 reps out LOL)...
.....then I did another 20mins on the bike.....about 5mins in my whole body felt like it wanted to give up....so just ignored that feeling & carried on! LOL! Then 10mins on the cross trainer, 10 mins on the rower & 10 mins on the treadmill.
...and now....well I'm shattered!!!
Stu - thanks for the words of encouragement - I'll put the times of when I weigh myself next to the weights - usually it will be in the evenings after I've finished my workout. Yeah I understand cardio also builds muscle to a certain extent but shouldnt really have much effect in 11days - I think if I can get to 72-73kgs I'll be happy for my holiday. I've got a bodyfat analyser but I take that with a pinch of salt as I've heard them to be unreliable. I'll whack that up too perhaps.
Anyway...off to eat chicken & veg.....no carbs!!

Well....didnt get to the gym until 8pm this evening due to work committments but that didnt stop me doing my full workout - 30mins on bike, 10 on cross trainer....then my shoulder workout - then 10 mins on rower & 10 mins on treadmill to finish off!! Was nearly the last one there! LOL!
Bodyfat percentage according to the dodgy digi calculator is 23.4% - if thats correct then it means I've lost 0.7% since January....hmmmmm!!!! Thinking not somehow but never mind!
