strut braces

whats good ones for fiesta or are they all much the same

Oranoco 01-01-2006 03:21 PM

Don't think there is too much between them to be honest mate. Do you want an alloy or a steel one?

Brookesy 01-01-2006 03:22 PM

Theres not much difference in them but as a matter of prefrerence i use OMP

chubbs358 01-01-2006 03:29 PM

are there advantages in having steel or alloy

Oranoco 01-01-2006 03:31 PM

Alloy looks a bit nicer but it's there to do a job. Never gone wrong with an OMP one in any of the cars we've fitted them to. Nicely priced as well :DD:

chubbs358 01-01-2006 03:39 PM

sounds good might just have to order one when i get home :top: . do rear braces make much difrence

Oranoco 01-01-2006 03:58 PM

Never had one TBH so can't say

AGAR-COSWORTH 01-01-2006 04:01 PM

One bit of advice i'd always heard was don't use the self tapping screws supplied to fit the brqce - they easily become loose after driving.

Oranoco 01-01-2006 04:11 PM

Yep drill the turret and then nut and bolt it with good quality fastners :top:

pollocks 01-01-2006 04:51 PM

is there one thats adjustable for the fiesta ??

if not might have a word with less at fusion as he has made my mates strut brace for his mk6 fiesta and they look cool

Oranoco 01-01-2006 04:55 PM

Lee's workmanship is 100% spot bollock on. I've seen quite a few of the bits he's done and they have all been superb :top:

richard_syko 01-01-2006 05:27 PM

Are the Fusion ones more for show?

There is a bloke on ebay called strut bracer that is pretty good with OMP steel braces.

Brookesy 01-01-2006 07:56 PM

Alloy braces arent too bad. I havnt used a rear brace yet but just bought 1 off someone on here so should tighten the back end up. I always look in the sales adds on here before buying a new brace from anywhere.

Speak to Lee at Fusion see what he can do for you he's a user on here as well so fairly easy to track him down

Moondust_crust 01-01-2006 08:10 PM

all of lee's work is the bollocks! just sent my fuel pump off to him for -6 connectors to be welded on, as for strut braces steel are stiffer than alloy but there all good. :top:

On the Fiesta Id recommend using OMP, the sparco brace is too difficult to fit properly. Th eOMP you can drill straight down into the top of the inner wing/turret section where as with the sparco its from the side and u cant get all the holes. Had to drop my front shockers out to put it in properly!
