Hi ive got similar problems too. When i start the car in the morning or from cold it idles at around 2000 revs and then after about 5mins drops down to about 900-1000 revs. It stays at that during the day but sometimes does pop back up for a bit then back down to about 900-1000 revs.

1.) What should the car be initially be idleing at when you first start it?

2.) If 2000 revs is way high what can the problem be???

Try cleaning the ISCV (idle speed control valve) & throttle body with some carb cleaner, refit parts & allow engine to reach norm operating temp. Disconect ISCV plug & set base idle to approx 725rpm (grub screw lower of throttle body) reconect plug & leave to idle for 15 mins (ecu to relearn new values). If this dont work try disconecting the speed sensor wires (3 pin plug) between the speedo cable & g/box, if all is well replace sensor.
reisskahn, yours sounds like it MAY just need to be left idling for 15 mins, have you disconected the battery lately?
