Exclamation Can someone help with no oil pressure

Hi lads, I've just put a engine into my frst, doesnt seem to hold oil pressure, oil light came on wen I started da car, it said it's about 11psi on da gauge at max and wen I rev it it goes up to 25psi maybe more and the oil light goes off, took the oil feed off the turbo and it just splutered out oil.. I've put a oil cooler kit on too and hav made sure to keep the air locks out.. Does anyone have any tips that will help me find out what the problem is, p.s. It seems to pump oil fine as checked it for that.. Thanks lads..

That is very low, I think it should be a lot more than that, I have an ACCUSUMP and that is pressured to 20psi to start with and is normally running about 60psi.

mine too, on cold its about 70-80 psi and about 30-40 when warm...

things to check are oil pressure switch, like you say oil pump is fine

however, your oil cooler is moving oil further around before it gets back to the engine, its route is sump, into pump through cooler pipes, into cooler, back through pipes into oil filter then into the engine, its a long way for oil to flow, your pump may need upgrading to a higher flow rate to pump it round the cooler quicker

what oil did you put in? 10w40 is the correct oil (possibly 15w50 or 10w50.. for high performance engines) anything lower (5W30 or 0W30) is to thin.. and will not cause enough pressure..
