mk 4 zetec turbo
hi im thinking bout buying a mk 4 and putting a 2 litre zetec turbo engine in it has this ever been done ? would and structural work need doing ?

I don't know if it's that cost-effective, as the exhaust/inlet are the opposite way around to the Zetec engine found in the Fiesta's... also you'll have to get custom engine mounts made up!
Get a 1.6 Zetec-SE engine from the Zetec-S, that produces 103bhp as standard, but with cams, exhaust, manifold, sports cat and a remap you'll easily see 150bhp - all that will come to around 1500 (not including the engine!!!) TB's will get you passed 170bhp (possibly) but will require a bit more money to get there... and aftermarket management (megasquirt, omex) If you want a turbocharged engine, then look into the CVH route as a few people have now fitted these into their ZS, and will essentially be exactly the same fit in the mk4!! Severnvalley put a 2.0 Zetec Turbo into a MK5 Fiesta. Should also fit the MK4 then...

hi
i put a cvh turbo into my mk5 zs it was easy and cheap!1st i had an escort rs turbo lump in then i changed it 2 a fiesta turbo engine an now in buildin a 1.8 zetec turbo which is nearly done if u want any info just ask ok m8, ps look at my posts and have a look

im buildin 1 for my mk5 and im using the std but uprated gearbox mounts and havin a billet aluminium top mount made for the engine side so it hooks up in the original mount on the wing, some people weld part of the focus wing inside the car but im gonna go the other way and make it custom
id get the engine bay seam welded tho and fit strut braces top n bottom minimum! |
ive just put a zetec tubo in my mk5 zetec s, was easy just had a mount made and welded to the wing cost me 60 quid to get done
