Default engine transplant mk4/5

bought a mint mk4 fezzie and the only problem is its engine is wanked any ideas what will slot stright in with out to much hassle ???


anyhelp would be cool

ps would a cvh drop in with out to much work ? wouldnt mind popping in a xr2i lump as theres a few going locally

dont go cvh put 1800 zetec out a escort or fiesta ,easy 130 bhp ,i used to have a 105 bhp and it made 129bhp and 131 ftlb with exhaust and filter

You had a 105PS 1.8 and it made 129bhp (an increase of 26bhp over standard) with just a filter and exhaust. That has to be the most optamistic rolling road ever. You'd be lucky to edge past 115bhp off that. Or were there more goodies on there than you're letting on about?

with all honesty thats what it made ill put the print out up that if you want it was the best non turbo engine ive ever had

Something was throwing the readings out then mate. RS1800's don't make that sort of power and they're supposed to be 128bhp as it is. Sorry but I just can't see anyway that could be possible.

cheers lads its just finding a decent engine to drop in will most zetec engines just bolt in? will they need different gearbox and stuff??

sorri bit new to dropping engines in etc

would say insurance isnt to much of a problem being 23 want sumthing nippy but not to expensive

Zetec-s and puma will go straight in, other engines like the 1.8/2.0 zetec will need modification to fit!

been lookin around and decided to try and find a 1.7 puma engine


there pretty hard to find

Get a puma lump and pop in, can be done in 2 days and is a easy job to do.

Look on ebay loads of engines with all the parts to fit it into a fiesta
