Default CVH with twin carbs - timing?

Afternoon peeps!

I have a 1988 XR2, with a Kent CVH22 cam, vernier pulley, twin 40 DCNF's with K&N's, a 4 branch and a 2" exhaust.

I havent been able to get it to run 100% since I rebuilt it to the above spec. I've got it running ok today, but it stinks of petrol and it's a bit lumpy.

I've tweaked and tweaked the 4 mixture screws at the back, and I've got it running ok, but it still stinks, and when I pull the lead off #4 plug it makes hardly no difference, yet fiddling with the mixture screw does????

Anyone got any ideas??

A dizzy just can not cope with your ignition needs. Get yourself a megajolt. It will be well worth the effort and will soon pay for it's self in saved fuel.

Come on guy's is that it? What did people use to do before megajolt????

I know megajolt systems aint expensive, and I've looked in to it and it doesn't seem too hard, just gotta get the wheel and sensor lined up properly and squarely, I'm just curious as surely the dizzy should work?
