my genuine FRST exhaust cleaned! some pictures for you.
a very big thankyou to knuckles for wrapping this up for me, was a little more wrapped that expected
yes a genuine ford fiesta rs turbo standard exhaust, which has been discontinued for some time now. now the bastards cant fail me again for my MOT for the noise given from my scorpion system, as i plan to have it back on the road in august
well this arrived this morning, so out with the razor blade to unwrap her and start cleaning the damm thing
many thanks to knuckles .
1. as you can see for a item that has been discontinued its in very good condition, the main rust on the system is around the welds, other than that very little surface rust and just dirt over the years.
2. back of the center section
3. where the backbox connects to.
4. first i started with some fine wet and dry to get some of the ground in dirt off, after i cleaned the crap off with cotton cloth i started to sand it down with some very fine wet and dry- look at the results, very impressive and very smooth .
5. another snapshot
6. the most fiddly parts to clean around these areas look at this compared to picture 3
7. got any sunglasses
8. i also managed to find after looking for a while, a brand new genuine ford FRST backbox, but you can see a big difference in size, i havent cleaned the other backbox incase you noticed
9. little and large
the only thing left to do now is polish the system, i have decided to use autosol metal polish, so im going to have another dead arm tomorrow. comments welcome
