I've had an oil leak on the car since I bought it, it has been to numerous garages who have all been unsuccessful in curing the leak. It leaks from below the sump gasket above this is dry no rocker cover leaks either.
When all the oil is cleaned off the sump and the car is ran on idle there are no leaks at all but if I go on just a 10 minute run not ragging it there is oil everywhere.Doesn't seem to be coming from the oil pump, its dripping almost in the middle of the front of the engine even the oil return from the turbo isn't perished. It has a rubber gasket, the sump does not appear to be rotten but I have ordered a brand new replacement just to be sure Its driving me mad not as its not the cheapest oil to be lubricating roads with. Any ideas appreciated, thanks in advance

Could be the crank seal??

My crank seal's perished and i thought it was my sump gasket til I took it for an MOT and the tester advised me on it and told me where it was

Just had an ERST 'box fitted today and the seal replaced even though it wasn't bad

sure its not the sump itself, they have a habbit of rotting through.
