I had that problem once on mine. The linkage inside the box was fucked so i had to replace the whole thing as it was easier than stripping it down

no the linkage is the gear stick and that mate, the box does have a internal gate in it, well the later boxes did anyway.
if you have never stripped a gearbox before i wouldnt recommend you try really.
a new linkage can be got from scrapy cheap but be sure its that first other wise its a waste of money

I have just replaced my gearbox(a different problem). I got a used gearbox for Ł88 inc. vat. I also had a price to rebuild my other box and that was Ł295 + vat with me taking out and putting the box back in! Its obviously a risk getting a used one but a lot cheaper. You need all the right tools and preferably two people to do it.It also takes a fair bit of time. Hopefully you will not need to do any of this though!

I replaced a gearbox by myself. Would've been easier with 2 people tho but it was a lot easier than stripping it down and not knowing how it went back together again

s/h boxes can be got for as low as Ł20 really mate.
if you dont know how to rebuild a box, dont, but 295 + vat is expensive, going rate prob but i would charge about Ł75 plus parts, tops be looking at Ł150
