Definately worth a feature mate, but you gotta be happy with it

Sounds like you've got your hands full lol

I'm looking at having a flocked dash, although the interior is the last thing on my mind at the min
I can't strip mine at mo due to the fact it's the family car lol! But when this new engine goes in, we will have another car and then i can put it on a DIET lol

So what power are you aiming for? for the future?

Cheers yeah I do like that pic!! If it made a feature that would be cool but not really that fussed to be honest!

A friend of mine has just sent his dash away and he was told theres a 2-3 month wait for them as there choca with dashes! Cant be bothered with the wait! The day il be finished stripping it il be at the pod with just the drivers seat left in it me thinks!

As for power just want to hit the 300 mark for now! Ian says the next stage is 450 whether il go that far who knows, il see what 300 is like first see how many gearboxes il go through

You just never know with gearboxes, my partner had Sunny's old box which he did the 178mph run with...
All shot peened and ATB diff with other mods and that got destroyed in 3rd gear!
He put his standard one in and it's been ever since even to do the Mega Thrash, Ten of the Best and other runs... CRAZY
His other box is the nuts now so i am having his old one plus ATB diff

450 will be mental!! I'm not going that far but looking at just over 300 for the long term

And with a bit of luck i will eventually get my partner's engine in my Fiesta
While he goes Duratec and big spec like Ians

I saw ians engine when I was up there... truely mental! My turbo could fit inside his
Sounds like youl have a rapid fezzy though what ever happens! Good luck with it!

LOL...

Yeah, it took some abuse in it's time then it let go in a big way going up a hill in third

That turbo is abit special ain't it... Don't think it will be much longer before it's ready for a thrash up Brunters... Can't wait for that, gonna be mad

Still think his engine needs to be dyno like my other half though..

Although he's hoping to have my partner's engine dyno'd in time for the up and coming Mega Thrash and ready to run but we'll see. Ian is really busy at moment and does most of the work on my partners car cause he work away a lot...

So anyway, when your car is on the road, what event will you be at first?

Yeah i know. I remember back in the day when 220bhp was crazy and that if you'd got that you were the daddy. How things have changed hey.

More and more people now looking at traction aids too.
13's were hard to break into, and now if you not in that or lower your not in the same league as the frt runners.

Pretty sure we'll be seing plenty of your car mate.
Who you got in mind to do the mapping? Ahmed and Groves or somebody else? Sure it's gonna be another monster.

By the way mate, my partners loving the wheels! Thinks ya car looks the nuts.

Yeah tell me about it mate. Been trying to get Jem into these wheels for ages now but she's wanting to keep the std looks. Just think they suit the car so well. It's her car though so she does what ever she wants too.

Sure you'll be very pleased with the results of yours. Lets just say it was an interesting ride home for me when i came home from groves!!!!

Love to see the exh manifolds like that. Unfortunatly they don't stay like that for long especially after being on the dyno. Have mine ceramic coated now. You thought about having it done at all?

By the way. Just looking at some of the pics of your car, MINT, and notice a mercury grey S2 sat next to yours.

Is it a second car?

Yeah I asked ian where he gets his done so thats prob next on the list although I do like the look of them wrapped too, unless I do both to make sure?!

Oh no... I wish! Just putting the engine back in that aswell, was trying to convince him of a zvh from ian but funds have restricted him unfortunately!

Was your manifold black?

Was your manifold black?
Hi mate

We sent it off to have it ceramic coated, it came back white, we then painted it black... as it's a tubular manifold and will getting dirty really quickly, black is the better option

Looks really good

Yeah like my partner said, he keeps mentioning wheels to me, and it's either the ones you have or the escos rims....

I do like both very much but i want to keep it as standard as possible, but hey, you never know what might happen in the future LOL

Hi,

Im sure ian showed me the manifold when I was up there! Did look smart! Can you just paint over ceramic then, what sort of paint is it?

The only thing with the standard wheels is that there quite skinny and traction may be a problem but if you have a decent box and tyres suppose, its what ever ya prefere at the end of the day! Escos rims do look the plumbs, might have to chop the archs a bit if you want it sitting low and ive heard they can throw the handling out..... but who cares if they look good

We used heat spray paint, not sure of name but good stuff...
Really easy to apply, dries so quick aswell...

I didn't know that about Ecos rims, thanks for letting me know...
I'm probably gonna keep standards on for everyday use, then for track have another set of wheels with cut slicks....

By the way.. did you ever have a problem with your shockers??

Mine is eating shockers rapidly and we haven't got a clue why...

Didn't know if it is a common problem with FRST's...

I'm getting coilovers soon, so not much of a problem in long term, just at present moment
And it's the same side every time!!

Hello,

No i don't think they are...

Our mate does our mot, and he told me that shockers were buggered nearly.. But he weren't sure why...

Same thing happened at the end of last year!!

I think i'm going down the route of GAZ coilovers, what have you got?

Any news on yours yet?

Hi,

Yep the welding was done yesterday and what a nice job he made of it too The manifold and my exhaust housing are going off tomorrow to be ceramic coated so hopefully in a few days when its all back I can get the exhaust made Soon as the bits are back the chaps popping back to make me a turbo brace and some alloy hard pipe aswell which should look quite nice

Cut all me hoses down to fit the other day so there all done apart from the breather ones as I havent heard about that yet ??

Orderd a nice big alloy rad which will be a couple of weeks so am going to wait for that aswell as no point really getting it up and running to have to pull it all apart and re-do pipe work!

Its all these last bits thats taking the time ........... and money

Hi mate,

Sounds like it's coming on well, you must be pleased..

Know what you mean about time and money, we're trying to do both the cars at once

Have you someone in mind to do your exhaust or are you handy with the welder yourself mate?

I know my partners has quite a few bends in it and took a few hours of playing and messing about to get it right.

What rad have you gone for by the way. I know we have one in the garage (GRS) but for an S2, off Sid's old spec, just wondering if it may fit or not on mine. If it does i may steal it off him

He'll never know

Trying to do mine on the run as it's the family car at present, that means everything has got to be spot on and ready to go when it comes off the road. Putting it in doesn't take any time at all as you well know, it's the getting all the little bits together and not forgetting anything

Keep us posted though mate. Cant wait to hear that you've got it running.

Yeah its coming along, I am pleased with it even though I havent driven it yet feels like its been off the road for yonks forgotten what it was like to drive!

Where doing 2 cars at once my end aswell except its a 3dr being broken, bits are starting to get mixed up although its good when you need a bolt for something as you can just rob what you need when hes not lookin

With the exhaust im not sure who to use as that mate of mine prob could do it but prob best taking it to a specialist really but I dont want no max power crap which is what most places do

Mines a GRS rad,the largest one he does for a fiesta so will be biggg
Not sure about the s2 one fitting or not,if not make it fit prob best giving them a bell!?

Quite looking forward to getting me bits back coated, should look smart.... better do the amount it costs but worth it suppose!
Been looking at rollcages recently, thats next on the list along with fuel cell in boot, defi gauges, flocked dash, perpex windows what a never ending money pit

Any progress with your engine yet?

Certainly not gonna feel anything like what it did, that's for sure.
Just gonna have to hold on mate and get something to take that smile off your face. If possible!!!

Always good to have plenty of fittings and bolts lying about. There's always something you need at 10 o'clock at night.

Sid was lucky that his mate likes a challenge and rather good at fabricating things (4x4 fiesta turbo) and things like that, and took up the job. Took a while, tacking and lining it up but made a good job on it in the end.

Here's a pic of Sid's ceramic coated.

Fuel cell, defi gauges, perspex windows, and flocked dash sound the nuts!!!!!
My other halfs as bad as you, he's been trying to get me on that wave of thinking. It does sound great but i'll just be happy with the engine done, coilovers and some rims.

FOR NOW!!!! LOL

Sids just got back from abroad again so work is now in motion once again on my engine. I think his idea is to get the engine built and ready to go in for next years start of the shows along with the re spray.

Yeah it is very easy to get the manifold dirty and once you do i cant see you being able to get it off as it's not a smooth surface. It's one of those finishes that if you get any dirt on it your best leaving it. Otherwise you'll end up with a right mess.

You'll see what i mean soon enough though.

As regards to the re-spray. There was a few things we wanted to sort out and make it as mint as possible for the shows next year. Sids said that it'd be nice to have the whole car painted so it's all at the same stage. Not just bumper and bonnet painted if ya get what i mean.

Sids quite handy with the buffer so it's got a wicked shine at the minute. We'll see though. May just get the imperfections done.

I'll just be happy with the new engine done for now.

I know what you mean about spraying the whole car, its just nice to know its all fresh paint instead of just a few bits!! Bound to have bits looking better than other bits too!

If theres no rot id just concentrate on the engine but then im no bufty and hate spending money on bodywork lol

Regarding seeing me coated bits, im away for a week and there was no one at home when they tryed delivering hate the thought of expensive bits sitting somewhere, dont know when they can re-deliver either as theres never anybody at home in the mornings itching to see the bits though!
