HELP Rear wheel bearing
Hi all
I have a 1994 RS 2000 4x4 and the rear wheel bearing has gone. Been to the local ford dealer and after them giving me the wrong part twice, they have now said that they cannot supply the rear wheel bearing and the only thing that they can do is supply a whole rear hub assembly for £280 each side!
Does anyone have any experience with this or can point me in a direction?
Thanks

It's not UK reg. I have spoken to 2 different Ford dealers and they cannot get the part.
I have got the original bearing off and have googled the manufacturer (SFK) and found a supplier who might be able to supply it to me.
Will let you.
Thanks

I thought that I would let people know for future reference.
I got the numbers off the old bearing and they were:
SKF
BT1B
328227
CA/Q
GERMANY-S
W21 M
I contacted SFK and they said to contact one of their suppliers. I sent a number of emails out but the company that stood out was M&L Autoparts. The bloke that I was dealing with was called Nigel and very helpful.
I ordered two kits and they came down with a good time. The problem I had is that the bearing supplied by my local Ford dealer was slightly too big so once fitted, it butchered the hub so had to get a replacement one.
Eventually got it back together and it seems to be fine now.
What a nightmare over a wheel bearing!

That's what I was told by someone else but there are 2 types but only 1 fits the RS2000.
If I went into the local dealer and said that, they would think that I am lying. I gave them the chassis number and you would expect that their system would know which one is the right one. I tried a couple of online ford dealerships and they came up with the same result.
Thought it would be easier to get the bearing from the original manufactur rather than get the dealer to order my a fez one, only to find out it's the wrong one and they charge me for both!
