Heres mine,

Bought it off D7AKE, had it two weeks and the oil pump went. Since taking the engine out to repair and modify it also found out the floors shot with rust. So much for the reliable car I was buying but never mind.

All this can be seen in my projects/rebuilds thread located HERE

[quote="cep23"] tell us more about yours sure i remember seeing it on a post not too long back and remembered the extremeley low milleage

I bought it new in aug 96 came to sell it in 98 for an escos then the buyer decided it didnt have traction control and pulled out.
as it was paid for and i now had my escos i kept it carcooned only coming out odd days and servicing.

she has ffsh all mots and tax discs and every invoice for bits i have needed,I have the bill of sale and handover check list and ford brochure that i used at the time.

10 years on she has covered only 8500 miles now and is just as deep red as when purchased and is still on original tyres and exhaust

NOT A TURBO but still worthy of the RS label

8500 miles and i thought mine was low when i bought it with 25k on the clock. Have you ever since 98 contemplated selling it? But there again, could you put a price on this type of car? Absolutely stunning

Too true. Shame as well as they are such an underated car. No idea why. This is my first RS, i only bought it as a stop gap for when the boyfriends escos was in the garage over the winter, so we could still have an RS for the meets etc, i'm so attatched now that i just can't bring myself to sell it on. It does everything i want it to, and it isn't one of the more 'flash' RS' so i'm not as paranoid when i leave it for more than 5 minutes. Brilliant cars imo, just a little on the plain side in some peoples opions to wear the RS bagde.

it was a limited run of 500 german cars, 499 left hand drive and one right hand drive (mine) sauber used in the uk for 300 miles lol

They had no major differences only changes were carbon sill, dash and gear surround panels, a rear badge and a certificate signed by heinz harold frentzen!!

Mines no 444 / 500 and the only one in the UK

hi there i have amk5rs2000 and im responding 2 the pics of the black mk5rs with the rotten floor,i had almost identical trouble with mine,i had to by two sills for both sides of my rs and cut the lip off one of the sills ,n weld that 2 the floorpan to create a sill lip for the other sill to be drilled and welded to its amazeing wat u find under plaggy side skirts,u never mentioned your chassis rails, again these had seen better days on my car, thankfully tho for me i have a good mate whos a genius when it comes to metal fabrication. hope u get your car sorted.

No when I went to view the car i did have a little check over it, however the underside was all wax oiled and that wouldnt have shown up through that.

Plus I was buying it off the chairman of an RSowners club, he said the car was reliable and only had the problems he told me on the phone. Rust around filler and A pillar few other minor things. How wrong was he had the car 2 weeks oil pump went, then after stripping found all the other things he forgot to mention.

Ahhhh well.

hi guys, nice to see all the cool picsof nice cars. mine is a j plate with 125k and not one spot of rot. however after being told the timing chain had been replaced it let itself go at 120mph. as you can imagine i was a little irate at this so we're back to rolling shell while i try and find crank valves etc!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
