Cleanning White Comp Mo Wheel's

I have a set of white comp mo's and last year on the way to a show my rocker cover gasket leaked and enigne oil has gone on to my driver's side front wheel and stained it a sort of yellow colour :wall: :wall: :wall: Anyone know what i can use to get my wheel back to being white :? :? :?

Hi Brian,

If it's like a film on top of the wheel, a claybar may do the trick, or it sounds like the better option would be to get a light diminishing abrasive such as Poorboys SSR 2. This will abraid the surface slightly but, will polish out to nothing while you work it, thus leaving a nice shiny, white wheel.

You should afterwards put a coat of sealant or wax on the wheels to give them some protection over the winter.

Hope that helps. Give me a shout if you need any info on products.

Cheers.
Alex.

Brian - you may also get decent results from cleaning the area affected with a strong APC or TFR first, as this should get the mark out as the Comps aren't clearcoated. Then polish and seal with wheel sealer :)

dry wipe with a degreaser, and then use soapy water to wash them off (same stuff as you use on the paintwork of your car)

once dried, use some polish on them (autoglym stuff) and they should come up nice and white again :DD:

Furniture polish mate, spray it on and wipe it off. Its what I use on my wheels instead of normal bodywork polish, much easier.
