Are you running over 3.86gb of total memory (system memory (ram) and graphical memory)?

Do you need to run any 64 bit only applications?

as above if not and you dont need the extra media functions go with home version

64 bits version does not support allot of drivers/hardware :?

2gb ram and will be purely a media pc, freeview, satelite card and dvd playing,

In that case there's no point in going 64bit, its more hassle then its worth as your not going to be taking advantage of the features of 64bit (ie over 3.86 gb memory).

I'd go for Vista Ultimate if i was you, and your going to take advantage f the media center functions (as it sounds like you going to)

why not just home premium? Or if you want reliability go for xp media centre 2005
