Ford Fiesta Mk3 (1989, G reg) - SOLD
Here is our Ford Fiesta Mk3 (1989, G reg) Popular Plus 1.1 3 door in Galaxy Blue. The car has a 1118cc petrol HCS engine with a 4 speed manual gearbox. The car was purchased new by us from our local Ford dealer (long since disappeared!) , so is a 1 owner from new car and has covered a genuine 54,000 miles. Although the car has been in constant use, it has only been used for local journeys and local commuting, although for the last 9 years, not used for commuting as the Bus has been used.
The car has been kept garaged for the past 18 years.
The car has some documented service history, 1990 and 1991 by Ford, then mainly between 2001 to 2010 (independent), but been serviced every year, regardless of mileage, at least had oil and filter change done every year, with spark plugs every 2 years. It had 4 new tyres fitted in 2011, which are still very good. The sump was replaced by local garage in 2012, as it was very rusty and leaking. The front wishbones were replaced about 3 years ago. New exhaust back box about 4 years ago. It has had a new clutch fitted in 2001 (at 24945 miles) and had new clutch cable in 2008.
The exterior bodywork is in good condition for its age, some minor dents/marks, the rear arches are rusty and need attention. The interior is in very good condition, as usually only driver occupant.
The car is currently MOT’d until 22nd August 2017. Some old MOT certificates from 2013 to 2016.
Some of the extras fitted to the car are as follows :-
Front Spot lights, genuine Ford lights, brackets and wiring kit used.
Front DRL lights under front bumper.
Rear High Level Brake light fitted to rear hatch.
The above lights were only added to improve the safety of the car in modern traffic and can easily be removed if not required.
Door rubbing strips fitted (genuine Ford from LX model iirc) to doors/side bodywork and matching chrome front/rear bumper insert strips.
Alpine stereo radio/cassette with remote control, very old, but works, (the original Ford supplied MW/LW/FM radio (model 2001) is included + (keycode), if you want it back to factory spec).
Additional Rear speakers fitted in factory position for rear speakers, the rear parcel shelf is unmolested, if a little faded.
Genuine Ford Fiesta rubber mats fitted front and rear from new.
Dealer fitted mud flaps from new.
Aftermarket wheel trims fitted, car came with plain grey steel wheels with black centre caps and black plastic nut covers, still have black centre caps and nut covers if want it back to original.
The Bad points :-
The rear arches are rusty, they have had some rust treatment and paint, but really need doing properly.
A small patch of rust, treated/painted, at bottom of driver side A piller.
The outer sills underneath were showing surface rust last year, so have been treated and overpainted.
The front windscreen wipers don’t park properly, but work ok on both speeds.
The rear screen washer doesn’t work, I’ve checked/cleaned both pipe ends, but think blockage may be further along, the rear screen wiper works ok.
The car comes complete with its original Ford Fiesta handbook, Service book, Ford stereo radio manual, radio keycode (original card), a Haynes manual and Alpine stereo manual. Some service history bills/documentation and some old MOTs. Also the original order form and invoice from supplying dealer (Target Ford, Maidenhead), the dealer closed many years ago.
The car comes with 3 keys and key number tag (one of the keys is a stubby ‘service’ key).
Price = £575 o.n.o.
Cash on collection preferred, car will not be released until cash or cleared funds received.
