PassionFord Post Whore!!
Lovely looking car and I am glad to see you are asking a proper price for it. The prices for GOOD Sapphires should be a lot more than they are now. The thing that gets me is that a lot of our Sapphires have got much bigger speccs than 3 door ones yet they get silly money for them.

A lovely car and I am glad to see you want proper money for it , I get sick of seeing Sapphire Cosworths selling for peanuts. I have got an agreed value on mine of Ł21000 but if it was stolen or written off it would cost all of that to buy another one and bring it up to the same standard it is now. Stick to your price it is worth more than that in my opinion.

I have had my Sapphire for 19 years and its been insured with an agreed value for 15 years. Every 2 years I have to send photos and an updated valuation which is verified by Cosworth restoration and mechanical experts Malcolm and Richard at Tremona Garage in Southampton. As I said if it was stolen or written off to buy another non=rusty one and modify up to mine would probably cost more than 21k. Why do people like yourself look down their noses at Sapphires and think its only 3 doors that are worth big money? The 2wd Sapphire shares nearly everything mechanically with them and engine modifications etc cost the same so why would a 3 door cost any more to repair or replace if it was stolen or written off?

I have just yet to see any saff no matter how stunning amd well looked after sell for anywhere near 21k , and i know there isnt one valued by the rsoc at anywhere near that money
I just think its a pie in the sky valuation ( based on sale prices ) but good luck to you if you cn get a real agreed value for that figure

It is not what some vehicles are worth or what they sell for its the replacement values that are taken into consideration for car on agreed value insurance.. The clue is in the "Agreed value".
An insurance company will decide the premium based on the agreed value of the car. If the Insured is happy tp pay the premium set by the Insurer and the Insurer is happy to pay out say 21 K if the worst was to happen then whats the problem ?
A person that has 19 years in a car obviously loves that car and its more than just a car in many respects.. If that person did not insure that car properly they would be barmy.. Some cars are irreplaceable at any price to the owner,
