BMW E30 325i Rally Car
Hi all, Ive decided to give the sport of Rallying up until I win the lottery so up for sale is my e30
Before I start i would like to point out that im open p/x and/or swaps as im looking for a Sapphire Cosworth / RS Turbo or an Mitsi Evo 4 basically something i can have some fun in over the summer.
History of the car... I bought the car on ebay as a standard road car back in 06/07 and ran her as my daily driver for a while. I realised the potential of the car compared to all my previous teenage kicks.
After a few months the car was converted to a Track day car then the decision was made to really turn her into something worth it and the necessary modifications were made. Me and my old man did a few events and came 3rd in the over 2.5 class. This was before the BMW challenge and an E30 was quite a rarity on a clubman rally.
The car was sold at the end of the season. The last couple of seasons i ran another E30 with the S52 motor which was awesome and sold that to fund a Sierra Cosworth build (Rally) but after 6 months not one shell (Already caged/logbooked) turned up then i found this old girl on ebay...feeling a little reminiscent i bought her back at the start of 2011.
She was still fairly standard so i purchased the BMW E30 challenge spec Bilstein Rally suspension with eibach springs which was purposely made for the car to ensure the car was ideally suited to a mixture of the rough and tarmac.
So the the Spec of the car.
1990 E30 325i Rally car -MSA Logbooked
V5 logbook in my name and has about 8 months MOT
FIA approved roll cage, seats and harnesses - Seats and belts are both in date
2no extinguishers with cut out switch - all required for rallying
Brand new Biltein challenge spec suspension - Only done 2 tarmac events
Internal Brake and Fuel lines
Z3 Quickshift
E36 M3 Evo Steering Rack
LSD with E30 M3 solid mounting bush
E30 M3 Eccentric front arm bushes
Hydraulic handbrake (Normal cable H/brake is retained for MOT)
Chipped ECU
Polycarbonate windows - massive weight reduction
Race pads on all 4 corners - rear discs are drilled
New Bushes to rear Beam
As a rally car it has to be road legal hence the MOT so is just ideally suited on a rally stage as on a track day or if someone wants to hoon around on the road.
I have been quoted £505 fully comp for insurance by a specialist Rally Car insurance (Richard Egger) They accept it as a rally car and you have no requirement to list the modifications
Have just fitted 2 new front wings as the previous ones were a little scratched.
I have added a few pics from the last rally she competed in January...This was at Mallory Park...And those F1 boys whimp out when it rains too hard
I will post some more pics of the her parked up so you can get a better feel for her as a normal car if you like.
Im looking in the region of 3k
Im open to offers and as said earlier p/x Swaps
