Focus T190
This is my Focus T190, a VERY rare development prototype for the mk1 RS. Here is the info about these brilliant cars:
When the Focus first appeared on the UK streets, long before the RS, the Ford motorsport companies who were involved in the rally team and the Cosworth projects combined their knowledge to build a car as a prototype for Ford to show what potential the Focus had. It uses a normal 1.8 blacktop zetec engine with uprated Piper valve springs, modified factory exhaust manifold to accomodate the turbo and GT2554 turbo with custom exhaust housing which is bespoke to these cars. It also has a large front mount intercooler, alloy hard pipe and a decatted Powerflo stainless exhaust. The car also has a large atmospheric dump valve (which chatters when driven gentle and dumps LOUD when driven hard), full leather reclining Cobra seats and Morette projector headlights. There are also tinted windows all round. The car uses a Pectel piggyback standalone ECU with ST Escos sensor loom so has same Coolant sensor, 2BAR map sensor, Lektron valve and Air Charge Temp sensor. I even have the dyno graphs from Mountune when they developed the car.
I have a HPi certificate which shows 100% clear of accidents and crashes, and I am the 4th owner and it has 78000 genuine miles with full history as evidence including receipts for piston work and turbo modified to hybrid stage 1 a few years ago. I have had the turbo rebuilt due to oil seals leaking, exhaust housing cracking and feathering to the exhaust wheel. This was again to hybrid stage 1 and done by AET in Yorkshire at a cost of £554. The car uses no oil or water.
The car is very clean for age with only very light marks which I'd say are good for its age. Insurance is very reasonable for it compared to a Cosworth or Focus RS. I have it insured as a T190 and pay £499.99 through Brentacre. As the car is listed on V5 as only a 1.8 Zetec, it COULD be insured as a 1.8 Zetec meaning it would be even cheaper.
It has 2 keys, handbooks, magazine features and spares like original headlights with bulbs, cam cover, heater vents and coil packs. I also have just acquired a disc of Pectel software for the car too which allows you to see live sensor data on a laptop with the correct lead. I'll also throw in some Team Dynamics Pro Race 1.2 in black.
The car has poor cold start running for first few minutes. It starts but splutters to a stall a few seconds later. It does this twice or so then will run fine. I looked on a few Ford forums and it seems this is common on the Focus RS and the owners there put it down to the mapping of the car and nothing to be concerned with. There is a little surface rust starting on rear arches which I can get done as I was quoted £100 for it done. The front bumper has a few marks and splitter isn't perfect. It seems to have been repaired previously but isn't perfect. It's nothing major hence why I haven't done it.
I have put lots of time and money into getting the car back towards the standard it should be due to the turbo going wrong. It's now a brilliant car and am only thinking of changing as I started my own mobile business at new year. I would be happy to provide a video walk around of the car, under the bonnet, interior and a quick drive if you wanted so you can see the car a bit better than any photo could show. Just ask and I'll do one that day.
Car has 6months tax (expires 09/2012) and full 12months MOT.
The car is for sale and the asking price is £3750ono

So did I mate but I'll keep it for now, sort the issues and enjoy it unless I get a good offer
But the purchase I was gonna make was cancelled anyway as the finance co took the pi$$ with their rates.

Maybe but I wouldn't have the heart to strip it. I am considering getting standard bits to make it a sleeper if or it doesn't go. Needs a drop link for mot otherwise can't see any problems. Just been taxed today and arranging mot

James, I know the feeling! These cars drive real well and carry a good bit of focus heritage with them. The fact they were stepping stones for the RS and showed what the platform was capable of.
Regarding the sleeper idea it's always appealed to me, but at the same time I'd feel like I was destroying so much of what the car was built for. It's a hard decision and to be honest I now love the look of them Whichever way you go with it, good luck buddy and hope the business venture goes well

Brentacre are good. V5 shows Focus 1.8 zetec but original bill of sale shows T190 conversion. I pay £499.99 all declared and covered with 4 years NCD at 29 in a NE24 postcode. For comparison, a 225bhp Leon Cupra R on 05 plate is £75 a year extra. Corsa VXR is £45 a year more.

Got no new ones but this is it-
Vag-com'd it and not a thing showed up apart from external temp sensor. Drives well and managed 35mpg on run back up with it so happy. Cost extra £80 for the year for insurance too
