Default 1990 Ford Escort Bonus Van MK4 - £400

Hi people. I'm selling my MK4 Escort van.

I bought this last week to do as a project van, and stick in a turbo lump. But as I was on eBay looking for turbo bits for it, another van popped up, which I bid, won and have now bought.

Which leaves me with this one, which now needs to go to someone else for them to do up.

Before I go into the ins and outs of the van, I need to make clear - THIS NEEDS PAINTING. The paint on it is shot completely, its crazed and will not T-Cut or mop up.

Saying that - the body is rust free. It also looks to be filler-free too. The only rust is: one bubble on the rear door, a small hole in drivers footwell (10 min job), and a bit of rust I can make out near the left of the battery tray. It's had a bit of welding - not too much - a little bit near the seat mounts, and some rough welding inside the back wheel wells. You would want to tidy this up, and then board over it.

Arches, sills and wings are original, and are not even scabby.

Roof rack rails are good, not beaten up or twisted like most vans.

Wheels are 13" standard, with one odd fiesta 13" at the front.

Interior: I think the seats and door cards have been replaced as they don't look very van like. I'm thinking they are from an Escort GL. Dash is usual van like condition.

Owners & History - Had either 3 or 4 owners from new, there is a stack of history -every MOT from 1995 - present day, original service history book, owners wallet and a quite a few old tax discs too.

It's currently MOT'd until February 18th 2012, and Taxed until end September 2012. (I taxed it last week.)

It's Radiant Red - It's never been a post office van at any time.

On to the mechanicals:

1.3 OHV petrol, 4-speed.

It starts, first time every time, drives well, has no problems with engine, gearbox, clutch, starter, alternator, brakes or steering.

I paid £325 for the van last week, paid a further £130 on a full years tax (which speaks for itself - you don't put a years tax on something unless its decent), and also have bought two new number plates for it, and a new locking fuel cap - which came in at £35 quid.

All told it stands me in about £500 - I'll take £400 for it as it stands.

To be fair, I won't take any less than that for it, as I'm already losing a ton on it, and I'll keep it as a runaround otherwise. If I hadn't bought the other van, I'd be doing this one up.

Message me here if you are interested, or PM me and I will give you my mobile number.

Cheers, Darren
