Sierra sapphire cosworth SOLD SOLD SOLD
The car is a 1992 sierra sapphire 2.9 24 valve turbo, in mallard green.
Approx 290bhp at a lowly 6 psi,new front mount intercooler with 3" piping, .63 t34 turbo, custom exhaust manifolds, six c20let injectors, recent five puk OMP clutch, hybrid mt75 gearbox, KMS programmable ECU with loom and KMS software disc, full 4x4 kit (sideskirts not fitted but included in sale) car is fitted with four good lattice wheels and tyres, but i also have four good spares to go with car, Recent oil and filter change (less than 100 miles ago) New drilled and grooved front discs and pads, rear disc conversion, LSD, cosworth cloth seats (acceptable but not perfect) 10 months MOT and taxed for two months.
The car has recently been painted/restored by myself, the paintwork is very good, with no dings, scratches or rust, during its tidy up the floor was cleaned up and any small repairs were made, then re-sealed. Also the car got new arches and outer sills, and a good secondhand genuine 4x4 cos rear pannel.
The car does about 30mpg when driven sensibly, down to 20 when not.
I am located in Aberdeen/Dundee scotland
Any questions please ask, i will try my best to answer, thanks Chaffe.
Price 2500, but open to offers, fully working

I must say that you have done a fantastic job of the car and it's a real work of art and you should be very proud of the acheivement.
Where about's are you based as I live just North of Newcastle.
Is the car registered as a 1.8LX model or something? What is the condition/mileage of the new engine/gearbox you are fitting?
Could you please post some pics of the interior up on this ad. I take it, the seats are Recaro's and normal LX for the rest?
Is the car MOT until the end of this year and when is the tax due?
I've been looking around for a few months at various XR/RS models and yours would be right up my street.
My apologies for all the questions, however this is all new to me.
Many Thanks

Just noticed that you are all the way up Aberdeen which is around a 5hr drive from Newcastle.
What a nightmare. As I have a 3 year old and I'm very busy at work, I will find it very difficult to travel up.
Anyone on here have a transport company who could bring it down?
Cheers

Just received an e-mail quote from a car transport business. Ł384 from Aberdeen to Ashington (North of Newcastle).
Are you flexible on the asking price?
With regards to insurance do you just tell the relevant company its say an 1.8LX with a 2.8 engine and other mods.
Cheers

Just had a look at flights to Aberdeen and can get them direct from Newcastle to Aberdeen for around Ł140. Friday 18th or Monday 20th.
It would mean taking a day off work. How far are you from the airport?
Cheers

Any ideas on insurance? I've just tried Performance Direct and it's coming up with nearly
Ł1k with all the modifications.
I've had quotes for XR3i's, XR4x4's for just under Ł200 a year. As I use my no-claims on my Audi A6, it would be a second policy for me.
Many Thanks

I've been reading through your ad and thread build with some great interest. So you've decided to take out the 2.9 Cosworth Engine and replace it with a V6 2.8 XR4i engine.
I must say that you have done a fantastic job of the car and it's a real work of art and you should be very proud of the acheivement.

The engine im fitting will be running, not sure about anything else about it, although if you give me 2300 you can have the car with a cosworth engine and turbo conversion, with programmable engine management.
Insurance is cheap as i have a traders policy.
Too right, one of the better replicas out there for not much money.

I'm possibly going to see a '91 H-plate 205 GTI 1.9 within my area this week, which I know won't be as good as your Sapp....

Good Luck, I hope it all goes well. It would be a shame to take out the Cosworth engine, especially when you've spent all that time and effort to create such a master piece.

cheers, its a good shell, no scratches, no rust, no dings or dents and a nice colour, Ive taken the cooked gearbox out this morning, fitting a working gearbox tommorow. Then i have a couple of people interested in the car as a working machine. I dont want to break it, far better all together as a whole. Good car for just over 2k
