1998, 'S' REG FORD COURIER 1.8 DIESEL.
9 MONTHS MOT, NO TAX
POWER STEERING
OPTIONAL REAR SEATS AND SEATBELTS FITTED (these are easily removed or folded forward)
THE REAR HAS BEEN INSULATED, BOARDED UP AND CARPETED FOR EXTRA WARMTH
TOW BAR
15" TSW ALLOYS WITH VERY GOOD TYRES
FORD DOUBLE DIN CD PLAYER FROM MONDEO
UPRATED SPEAKERS IN DOORS AND 6X9's IN REAR
FRONT FOGLIGHTS AND BUMPER FROM MK4 FIESTA GHIA
SPEEDO READS 147K BUT THE ENGINE HAS DONE JUST OVER 100K.
IT WAS CHANGED BY PREVIOUS OWNER DUE TO PROBLEMS.
STILL FEELS AND DRIVES LIKE ITS DONE 50K.
I'VE DONE THE FOLLOWING TO THE CAR -
GENUINE FORD CAMBELT DONE AT 135K
GENUINE FORD HEAD GASKET SET DONE AT 135K,
THIS WAS ONLY AS I WANTED THE BOTTOM END CHECKED BEFORE THE CAMBELT WAS DONE TO MAKE SURE IT WAS ALL GOOD AND OBVIOUSLY NOT GONNA RE-USE THE HEAD GASKET AND BOLTS.
GENUINE FORD EXHAUST AND INLET MANIFOLD GASKETS AND STUD SETS REPLACED AT 135K
RE-CONDITIONED REAR BEAM REPLACED AT 130K
SERVICED AT 145K - OIL FILTER, DIESEL FILTER, AIR FILTER, GLOW PLUGS, OIL
NEW ARIEL KIT SO GET A LOVELY RADIO SIGNAL NOW.
NEW ALTERNATOR AND BELT AT 140K
NEW STARTER MOTOR AT 140K
FOR MOT IT HAD-
CV GAITORS BOTH SIDES
ALL NEW REAR BRAKE LINES AND COMPENSATOR WAS REFURBISHED
O/S FRONT NEW COIL SPRING
TRACK ROD ENDS ON BOTH SIDES
XR3I FRONT BRAKE CALIPERS (i had these spare and it needed new calipers)
WELDING WORK ON N/S SILL
REAR BRAKE SHOES REPLACED AND SHOES CLEANED
HANDBRAKE CABLE CLEANED AND ADJUSTED.
BEST PART OF £1300 SPET OVER THE LAST YEAR OR SO.
I'VE PROBABLY MISSED LOADS BUT ITS A GREAT VAN, I'VE JUST USED IT AS A DAILY DRIVER AS ITS ALWAYS BEEN RELIABLE AND NEVER LET ME DOWN, ALSO ITS CHEAP TO RUN AND COMES IN HANDY IF I NEED TO TOW OR PICK UP ANYTHING.
IT HAS A COUPLE OF LITTLE SCRATCHES AND SMALL DENTS FROM GENERAL USE BUT IT IS NOW 13 YEARS OLD SO I'D SAY ITS DONE WELL.
THE ONLY THING I COULD THINK THAT YOU COULD CALL A PROBLEM IS THAT WHEN YOU FIRST START IT THE CAR IDLES A BIT LUMPY TIL ITS WARMED UP, WAS TOLD ITS SOMETHING TO DO WITH THE IDLE VALVE BUT ITS NOT REALLY A BIG ISSUE FOR ME AS ITS FINE WHEN YOU DRIVE OFF.
