Mine was bypassed with the switch being jammed open, the belts were also slack.

Mine failed its MOT due to ABS light not working, so changed the relay to get the bulb working, did the job for a bit then the light started flickering on when driving & then stayed on permanently so took it to Ford garage who replaced the belts & switches at a cost of £163!
