I do think modern cars are responsible for a lot of stupidity on the roads. People relying on technology to do the most obvious and simple tasks is a recipe for disaster. Earlier this year the wife was driving in thick fog without the headlights on because she always has them set to auto, she assumed they were on until I told her they weren't.
