The earlier ones (and the ones in your price range) will more than likely be 140s. The Tit X Sports were 2.2 and 173bhp. They dropped the 2.2 for the facelift, and all were 2.0s either 140 or 163s.

To be fair the 140s are plenty pokey enough.
