Right I've worked out how to view the album and it's not a meta but an even older type(I can't remember the name) but these were also hugely popular back in the 90's.
Id personally get it disconnected and a new one fitted,shouldn't cost much at all,your right in saying it could start to cause issues and I'd be certain you can't get spares for them anymore.
