IVECO has always been the truck-building division of FIAT since its conception.

Ford trucks Europe did become part of the brand, hence some used to have Ford engines and badged IVECO-Ford. That stopped a good few years back now though.

IVECO is an acronym, like FIAT.

I needed to get a 3.5t flatbed truck extended and a 7 metre bed fitted and the only manufacturer that agreed were IVECO as the Daily was the only truck deemed big enough in standard form and calculated to be viable. I wasn't overly enamoured at first as i'd had bad experience of old IVECOs, but 2 and half years and 80k later it's been amazing. Nothing broken or gone wrong save for a stop light going out. Only just had pads and tyres changed. Beautiful truck to drive too, pulls so well even with all the added weight on the back plus a tonne load. Recommend one to anyone.
