There seems to be a little confusion on this thread as to our role in all this.
The chap came here to get his old chip out as was idling off the scale as usual, new chip, injectors, wasted spark and closed loop fitted along with fuelling etc set up for running in gently as it had a brand new engine in and we were not doing enlisted to be doing any test drives or checking boost etc as it was going to be run in nicely for a few miles under closed loop and the returned to us before it was to see any boost or high revs. The chap who built Phils engine was going to oversee its first few miles and shakedown as part of the build job, so driving it was not a part of our remit that day.
It did NOT overheat in the workshop at any times and the datalogs show it to never see in excess of 90 degrees, with fans cycling properly as expected.

We do stock the stats etc and would have sold him them gladly had he wanted them when he later realised the cooling system had problems after subjecting it to the thermal loads of driving a new, tight engine in traffic. However, thankfully Matt sorted him so all is well.

Why would anyone want to fit an 88deg stat to one anyway?
