You can get a T34 with a .48 back housing to spool by 3500rpm on a 16 CVH. Depends how badly you hat lag but that seemed pretty acceptable wit the engines willing to rev from there all the way round to 6800rpm.

My GT28 isn't in properly until it's over 4k but the mapping is far from finished.
