Thanks for the advice and replies. I remember taking an old escort to a trusted garage and when they hooked it up to the CO2 it was reading off the scale. Turned out the previous owner had been fiddling around with the fueling.
I think i'll probably go to ricky gauld once i've put the head back on the orion. It was running ok when i took it off the road but a check can't hurt. Might be a few weeks before i go though so you might get there before me. The RS Turbo will probably be later on in the summer as it's a bit of a mess.
