The 205 as we have said is just a Pinto block nothing more nothing less, this is all the YB is anyway just a jumped up Pinto, the 205 is NOT the strongest block either.
The YAA which was seen by accident when on a visit to Cosworth to look at Formula 1 engine, Stewart Turner asked Keith whats that? To which the reply was "Thats a Pinto with a cylinder head conversion, we believe there is enough demand for it to put into production as a performance part" Nothing more was said. Turbocharging was then thrown in by Stewart's legendry comment whilst consuming a ploughmens lunch at a pub. To be specific "If we turbo charge your Pinto with the 16V head and put it into a Sierra Rover won't win another race" and so the YB was born.
205 blocks can't handle big power, it's a lottery some have run 500HP some have cracked at less, also you can't long stud these.
The 200 block as said is alot stronger, of course I am excluding the YBD 205.
