The length of the pipe is not an issue really, it's more important(read vital) that it has a drop prior to going into the map sensor, so long as you use proper vacuum hose then can mount anywhere you like under bonnet, away from other electrical fields is best, std place is fine, out of harms way, just use some 3mm flat metal to make a bracket up and bolt to inner wing etc.
