hey mate was exactly the same as you, thought whats the point of spending almost the same money for an r6 when the r1 is nearly same price, Its that old chestnut of
'' Get a 600 first you'll kill yourself on a thou''.

peeps are probably right, but it depends on how confident you are at riding, and what you have ridden previously. At the end of the day the bikes only gonna go as fast as you make it. speed limit is the speed limit, !
I took my full bike test a year ago but then lost my job,
I recently qualified in my new job and 2 months ago i totally contradicted myself and bought a ktm 125 sx supermoto.

Lol I was almost certain i wanted an r1, but i've actually gone off them, I'd rather have a triumph Daytona 675.

Anyway good luck in which ever direction you decide to take.
