Might also be a corruption in the essential boot up files on your hard drive or a dead hard drive.
Look online for similar issues with your model. Theres been a lot of laptops the last few years that have poor cooling/faulty heat sink design. Personally i think some of it is deliberately done to "life" the laptops so they eventually get heat damage and stop working just after warranty expires

cynical yes, but i wouldnt put it past the computer giants doing this to boost the service repair and new laptop sales income. Think about it, in hard times people just put up with a shit computer till times are good. If it dies you either go without or stump up repairs/replacement. so either way they are no worse off.
