I had the original steel pipes running from rear to front of car on mine. I then made a join at the bulkhead to Aeroquip fittings for the engine bay. I did this by measuring the OD of the steel pipe, then going into a hydraulics place who supplied me with a compression fitting then went onto the steel pipe and left a female thread. I was then able to adapt this female thread to the dash fitting I wanted. You could do the same, but adapt to a hose tail with a thread on one side.
