Default Aftermarket ECU on N/A?!

Hi,

After speaking to a few people and companies, it seem that the std ecu on the focus (iv got a 1.8 mk1) is quite hard to map and if it is there is limited gains.

People have suggested a custom map or piggyback ecu, and these seem be around £400/500. Do these give any gains?

If not is it worth upgrading to aftermarket ECU, so the fueling and cam timing etc can be fully adjusted? I no these are norm around £900/£1k supplied/fitted/mapped.

Again wot gains wud be got and is it worth it on a n/a car (with exhaust/induction/cams etc) that isnt TC/SC/ITB's?

Or is the price that makes it not worth it?

Matt
