If we'd had the means, either credit card, or whatever, we'd have paid it. But in hindsight, we done the right thing, he would have lost a leg straight away, with the very real possibility he'd have to lose the other back leg in future, not fair to put him thru that suffering.
I'm not convinced tho that he was hit by a car, at least not while he was moving. The state of his back legs, one near enough stripped of flesh and fur on one side, his other one very raw, but no injuries anywhere else, neither external or internal, just doesn't add up. If it wasn't an accident, then there's some sick fuckers out there. We live in a quiet road, whenever he went out we only used to see him out the front or stalking the birds in neighbours gardens.
Missed him last night, and poor dog missed him as well,
