Maud is 102 & this is what she wanted as a birthday treat ' Tea at a posh place'. Maud had been a cook for 56 years & never got to see the posh bits.
We had 'High Tea' & she was soon the star attraction as others realised how old this grand old lady is, she said to me 'I now know what its like to be Famous'.
After tea we walked around the grounds & then back to the car, she didnt even get tired & loved it.
I asked her what she wanted to do next & she said I would like to visit the House I started as cook in 1921. I didnt know where it was but Maud did , total recall of the route dispite not having been there for years she actually left their service in 1925.
Im in awe of this remarkable old lady her mind is totally intact & her recall alarming far better than my own recall of my childhood, can their be many of her age still running her own home without help she is truely remarkable.
