Default Sierra 2.9 V6 XR4x4 twin turbo

I am advertising my dads very rare (in this condition) sierra xr4x4 with an original turbo technics twin turbo conversion.

my dad isnt a member of PF

Its in flint grey - a colour only available on cosworths and xr4x4`s for a short time.
heres a quick video of the car and its on youtube - follow this link to view - its not the most professional production but click on the `view in high quality` if you are given the choice:

Have a look at this one as it shows the car with the later tinted/clear lights which alot of people tend to prefer:

There can't be many original conversions left that are as `standard` as this one. Theres been 3 previous owners plus bristol street motors in Birmingham who had it converted within a few days of registration by turbo technics in northampton and used it as a demonstrator for their `powerhouse` rs/xr performance division.

Its the f73 225bhp model with 270lbs ft torque, although its got a full stainless steel exhaust system, twin electric fans so its probably nearer to 230/240bhp

theres contact details of the previous owners and have spoken to them all and the mileage is correct. At the moment its just over 109,000.

The wheels are the standard xr4x4 alloys in very good condition with newish tyres.

The car drives well and is very quick with fantastic in gear acceleration. You’ll notice from the tt sales brochure in the photos that while this conversion is similar to 60 it is nearly 3 seconds quicker to 100mph than a 4x4 cosworth and if it wasnt for the mt75 gearbox not being able to reach 60 in 2nd the 0-60 would be alot closer to 6 seconds.

theres a lever arch file full of receipts etc from around 1997 onwards plus other turbo technics related paperwork which will be included.

over the past 2 years its had the following replaced or fitted;
• full blueflame ss exhaust;
• power steering rack;
• front driveshaft gaiters;
• throttle cable;
• various engine sensors;
• front and rear discs + pads;
• twin electric fans;
• front & rear springs (avo approx 20mm lower);
• uprated breather system fitted by turbo technics when it was set up and checked over by them;
• plus normal service items.

Apart from that the two t2 turbos were replaced about 24000 miles ago, around the time it had a new clutch, piston rings, cams

other details about the car is as follows:

• mot`d until august 2009, taxed until the end of august 2008;
• heated front screen;
• heated rear screen – works fine as well as the aerial element;
• 4x electric windows – all work;
• scorpion alarm + remote central locking + 2 fobs + 2 keys one's the original ford torch key (torch works);
• original ford stereo cassette and separate amplifier;
• electrically operated and heated door mirrors;
• original standard interior – all excellent with no rips or tears just the odd small mark. There's no signs that its ever been smoked in. The headlining doesn't sag and the door cards, seats, trim and carpets are all clean;
• rear tailgate stays up on its own and the spare wheel, jack and wheel brace are all in place;
• lamp failure/door open display unit works correctly plus all of the instruments etc;
• adjustable rear dampers;
• comprehensive history folder with some previous mots & tax discs, the old type v5 registration document (the first owner shown on it is not ford by the way) plus the ford handbook pack.

Bodywork wise, the car is in fantastic condition considering the age. There is some slight bubbling here and there but you have to look closely.

Mechanically the engine has had regular oil changes, runs quiet and smoke free, there's no rattles or clonks from the running gear either. I`m not aware of any mechanical problems, its used everyday so has to be reliable.

At present the car has a ford rs 4 spoke steering wheel fitted but it will come with the standard one and without the headlamp protectors - but obviously if the price is right..

theres no end of other spares e.g. Front & rear hubs, brake discs, calipers, driveshafts, gearbox, front diff, sump etc that will also be listed over the next couple of weeks (assuming the car sells, otherwise i`ll keep them) and again if the price is right you can have the lot although you`ll need a van or trailer to fit it all in.

At the moment there is an emergency petrol cap fitted as the lock has become worn.

my dad can be contacted on 07973 263616 or julian.selby@ntlworld.com .

a vehicle data check has been done on the car and it is clear i.e.:
  • Not recorded as currently stolen;
  • Not at high risk of fraud or theft;
  • No finance agreement found;
  • No insurance write off details found;
  • No colour change
A copy of the report will be included in the sale.
