Dizzy Auxilary Shaft
Hi,
Had a knocking noise coming from my engine last week, finally got round to having a look yesterday and the pulley on the auxilary driveshaft which drives the dizzy and oil pump had come loose. I removed the bolt, cleaned the threads and refitted using some thread lock, no more knocking.
Once I had re fitted the pulley I noticed that the shaft moved in and out the engine by 4-5mm, is this normal or do I have a knackered bearing or something?
Car is a 4x4 Sapphire if that makes any difference.
