Hospitals – Portsmouth really don’t go together…

I fell of my bike disastrously last year after 4 years from being a competitive trials rider I thought that the break would not have relaxed my efforts or skills, so I decided to go for a ride with some mates.

A set of stairs that I found a piece of cake normally were the down fall of my guts and determination. I approached said stairs and launched the bike on to its rear wheel and proceeded in manoeuvring the bike up the 15 stairs on the back wheel then once at the top decided to return to the bottom in the same way….

With a slight mis-calculation half way down I managed to loose my balance and launch myself in to a position that really was not entertaining to watch. This resulted in me catapulting over the bars head first and clipping simultaneously my chin on the corner of the bottom step and my hands along the concrete.

I stood up almost immediately thinking that was lucky after the feeling f my teeth crunching a quick check and all was sound!!.
Until I stand up and my mates shout your chin… which had decided to turn itself inside out and dribble profusely down my somewhat now burgundy stained Daz white t-shirt.
I then had to with a sprained wrist ride the 2 mile one handed and the other hand supporting the gash.

Once home my good mate Russ came upto A+E to wait with me, on arrival – Friday evening I get a look of disgust and the first question – drinking were we…

My response no riding my bike..
On the way back from the pub were we…
No…just riding my bike down some stairs lol.

Anyway after waiting for almost 4 hours to be seen and a chin that was pouring out blood I was outraged that people coming in after were being seen before me.
I also became very light headed on several occasions and due to a head injury I thought these were more important.

Well once finally seen and 4 injections into the wound and 3 in the mouth I was given 6 stitches in my chin, whilst I was clenching the chair in which I was sat
We then found out the sprained wrist was broken in two places…… oh great another 2 hours of waiting.
